Club Notes 9th April 2017
It was a successful weekend for the Adult Hurling Teams. The AHL4 team beat St Maurs on Saturday in Ridgewood with Adam O'Shaughnessy finding the net & Shane O'Brien getting an impressive tally of 10 points. The AHL9 team beat Erins Isle in Finglas on Sunday in a very close encounter with crucial late scores from Matt Murray & Barry Shelly.
Well done to the Adult Camogie team who played their first league match on Wednesday evening in River Valley by beating Kilcoole, in a great start to the season.
Congratulations to the Thomas Ashe Minor Football team who beat Kilmacud Crokes in St Margarets on Sunday morning in their Division 4 League game.
It was a busy week for the Under 15 Boys hurlers with an excellent win over Kilmacud Crokes on Sunday week and a narrow defeat to Erins Isle on Thursday evening.
Congratulations to Liam Kiernan who has been selected for the Under 15 Dublin Hurling Squad.
Well done to Teagen Comber & Emma Howe who were on the Dublin Under 14 team who beat Laois in the Leinster Championship on Saturday. Dublin will play Meath in the Leinster Final in May. Best of luck to the girls in the final!
The Nursery & Academy sponsored by Sky Handling Partner will not take place on Saturday 15th April, the Easter weekend but will resume on Saturday 22nd April after the Easter Break at the usual times 10am & 11.30am respectively.
A reminder, that the club is hosting a Child Protection in Sport Awareness (CPSA) course on Tuesday 18th April at 7pm in the Clubhouse. It is mandatory for all coaches & mentors and those working with children to complete this course. Please email the Club Childrens Officer Sharon Callanan email@example.com to register your interest. The course is being run by the county board and places are limited as it will be opened up to other clubs to attend.
St Finians GAA Club extends sincere sympathies to the Lynch Family on the passing of their mother Rose Lynch (née Sheridan) who died peacefully on Monday. Rose’s sons Stephen, Seoirse, Ronan & Ciaran all played football & hurling for the club at various times. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dilís.
A reminder, that membership subscriptions for 2017 are now overdue. Payments can be made directly online under the Club Membership menu on the club website www.stfinians.com. Payments can also be made in the club office Monday to Thursday from 7pm or Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm by cash or credit/debit card. Membership forms can also be downloaded from the Downloads menu on the club website. For insurance purposes, it is essential that adult players and Juveniles who play on under 8 teams and upwards have their subscriptions paid in advance of the new season.
There are Yoga classes taking place in the Clubhouse Activity Room every Thursday evenings. For Further details, please contact Jacquie at 087 786 8363.
Club Lotto - The club lotto jackpot on the 7th April was €1900 and the numbers drawn were 2, 5, 19, 23. There was no winner. Lucky Dip Winners of €25 were John Dennis, Noreen Dowling, Martin Long, P Gibney. Next week’s jackpot is €2000.
The club bingo takes place this and every Friday upstairs in Peacocks at 8.30pm. The jackpot is €1350!
The coffee shop is open this and every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm, all are welcome for a cuppa and a chat.
