Club Notes 7th May 2017   07/05/2017

It was a successful weekend for the Adult Hurling Teams. The AHL4 team who had a great win over St Oliver Plunketts in Ridgewood on Saturday evening, with Shane O’Brien, Domo Harris & Adam O’Shaughnessy who scored great goals with Jack Murray also in good scoring form. The AHL9 team beat St Peregrines in Blakestown on Sunday to top the group with Jay Merriman, Conor White & Eoin Murray dominant at the back and Adrian O’Keeffe in good scoring form.

Well done to the Adult Camogie Team who beat Naomh Barróg on Tuesday in River Valley.

Congratulations to the Thomas Ashe Minor team who won their Division 4 league game by beating Castlknock in St. Margarets on Sunday.

There was a good turnout of club coaches for the Football coaching workshop on Friday 5th May. Credit as always to GPO James Devlin on a very informative session.
The hurling workshop will take place on Friday 12th May from 7pm to 8.30pm on the Juvenile pitch in Rivervalley. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pen and notebook. Contact James Devlin 086 400 0324 to reserve a place.

Well done to Teagan Comber & Emma Howe from the Under 15 LGFA Team who were part of the Under 14 Ladies Dublin football team which won the Leinster Championship on Saturday. In an exciting, physical game the Dubs only led by 2 points at half time having played with a strong wind. In the second half the girls turned on the style and put in a great performance to run out 3-14 to 1-06 winners. Next up is an All Ireland semi final. Pictured are Teagan & Emma with the trophy.

A reminder that comedian Rory O'Connor, the man behind 'Rory's Stories' is coming to the Peacocks on Saturday 17th June. The Family Funday will take place on Saturday 17th June from 3pm until 6pm. This year the Club will be hosting an Ice Cream Funday in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland, so please support this worthy cause.

The Summer Cúl Camp will take place from Monday 3rd July to 7th July. The 2nd Summer camp will take place Tuesday 15th August to Friday 18th August and the 3rd camp will take place Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th August. Online payments with price details will available online soon.

St Finians GAA Club extends sincere sympathies to Ciara Buchanan from the Adult LGFA & Camogie Teams on the passing of her grandfather Brendan Turley.

Club Lotto - The club lotto jackpot on the 5th May was €2200 and the numbers drawn were 6, 18, 22, 23. There was no winner. Lucky Dip Winners of €25 were Anne Lavin, Niamh Hayden, Barbara Scanlan, James Keaveney. Next week’s jackpot is €2300. 

The club bingo takes place this and every Friday upstairs in Peacocks at 8.30pm. The jackpot is €1500!

The coffee shop is open this and every Saturday from 10am to 1pm. All are welcome for a cuppa and a chat.
